A Summer of Friendship Across Generations

During the summer term, Year 6 pupils took turns visiting our parish Friendship Group, run by Catholic Care to support older members of our community.

Sharing games and conversation gave children and group members the chance to get to know one another and build friendships. The visits were a great success, bringing enjoyment and companionship to both generations.

For Year 6, this was a valuable opportunity to listen, learn and discover how rewarding it can be to give someone your time. These friendships reflect Catholic Social Teaching, recognising each person’s dignity and strengthening connections within our community.

Thank you to Catholic Care and the Friendship Group for welcoming our pupils so warmly, and to Year 6 for putting our virtue of service into action. A lovely example of how much we can offer—and learn from—one another. 💜💛
