Pilgrimage of the Houses – A Journey of Love and Virtue
This week, our whole school community took part in a special end-of-year event: “Walking in Love – A Pilgrimage of the Houses.” Led beautifully by our Year 6 House Captains, each child journeyed in their House group around the school grounds, stopping at four prayer stations to honour our House Saints: St. Bede, St. Hilda, St. John Fisher, and St. Margaret Clitherow.
Each station offered the children a moment of stillness, scripture, reflection, and prayer based on one of our school virtues—Gratitude, Service, Courage, and Humility—all rooted in our school vision: Let all that you do be done in love.
The children gathered by the adventure playground to reflect with St. Bede on the gift of learning; under the copse, they remembered St. Hilda and the quiet strength of servant leadership; beside the reception gate, they stood in courage with St. John Fisher; and in the Prayer Garden, they prayed with St. Margaret Clitherow in stillness and humility.
The pilgrimage concluded with a moving whole-school celebration in St. Joseph’s Church, where all four Houses came together in prayer, mission, and song. We are so proud of our House Captains for leading the worship with such confidence, reverence, and heart.
This was a truly special way to end the year—walking, praying, and growing in faith together.
