Reading Buddies Bring Our School Together

Our reading buddies have started meeting across St Joseph’s, sharing stories and encouraging a love of books.

Year 6 take weekly turns reading with Reception or Year 3, while Year 5 partner with Year 2 and Year 4 join Year 1. These sessions give children the chance to discover books together, talk about favourite characters and inspire one another through their enthusiasm for reading.

Alongside the stories, friendships are growing. Older pupils practise listening, patience and encouragement, while younger children build connections with familiar faces around school.

Our reading buddies are putting our virtue of service into action, sharing their time and helping each other feel valued and included. A lovely way to nurture readers and strengthen our school family! 📚💜💛
