Year 6 Lead Our Start of School Year Mass

Our school community gathered at St Joseph’s Church for our Start of School Year Mass, celebrated by Fr Ben and led by Year 6. Together, we gave thanks for a new beginning and asked God to guide us as we grow in faith, learning and love.

The children presented symbols of school life, including a school jumper, exercise book, prayer book, musical instrument and sports kit. These reminded us of the friendships, learning, creativity and teamwork we share—and that every child is known, valued and loved.

Through readings and prayers, Year 6 helped us reflect on our virtues of gratitude, humility, courage and service: being thankful, ready to listen, brave when facing challenges and generous in caring for others.

After Mass, Year 6 lit candles and took a quiet moment to pray for their own intentions.

Thank you to Fr Ben and Year 6 for helping us begin the year with our school vision at heart: “Let all that you do be done in love.” 💜
