Year 6 Take on the Great Yorkshire Show!

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Great Yorkshire Show, immersing themselves in rural life, agricultural wonders, and Yorkshire traditions.

The day began with a trip to the arena where we watched the impressive sheepdog trials — a true display of skill, patience and teamwork. From there, we explored the animal enclosures, meeting sheep, goats, pigs, cows and even catching a glimpse of elegant horses in action during the equestrian events.

After a relaxing picnic in the welcomed shade under the trees, we headed to the bandstand, where a live musical act had everyone singing and dancing with joyful energy. It was a delight to see the entire class joining in and celebrating together.

Later in the day, we visited the Asda Discovery Zone, where the highlight was the Cheese Show! The children learned all about cheese-making, took part in fun food challenges, and sampled some truly tasty cheeses — a real treat for the tastebuds.

It was a day packed with fun, learning and laughter, and the children represented our school beautifully throughout. A wonderful celebration of all things Yorkshire!
